To ensure that each scholar receives prompt, professional and courteous service, a nutritious meal or snack, and practical nutrition education.
 
Position Description:
  • Assists with interviews and screening candidates for hire
  • Assists with onboarding processes for new hires
  • Assists with recruitment for high turnover roles
  • Assists with developing strategies for employee retention
  • Assists with receiving correspondence from employees calling off work. Assists with staffing each school with substitute employees where needed daily

The intern will learn day-to-day management of specific areas of city recreational facilities which may include: the Umerley Civic Center, the Hamilton Ice Arena, the Municipal Outdoor Pool and/or the ten city parks. The Recreation Operations Interns(s) are required to utilize general office equipment (copiers, computers, etc.) May be required to learn/operate facility specific equipment (fitness, natatorium, maintenance tools, etc.) The Intern will spend approximately 50% of his/her time in an office setting and the other 50% in the facility/field he/she is focusing on (fitness floor, outdoor field, natatorium, ice rink, etc.).

Fellowships and internships with CCL are enriching learning experiences working with our expert staff and volunteer leaders. Our fellows and interns go onto top graduate schools and careers in environmental, political, or nonprofit fields. Fellowships are paid positions and internships are volunteer, with the exception of our legislative program (both internships and fellowships are paid). All work with CCL staff. Fellowships tend to go to students with more experience and education. Internships are usually 8 - 10 hours a week for a semester or 15 weeks.
 
Positions currently open include: Campus Organizing Interns, College Outreach Intern, Conservative Outreach Intern, Diversity and Inclusion or D&I Fellow, Latinos Engagement Fellow, Citizens' Climate Radio, Communications Intern, Legislative Interns & Fellows.

  • Administration of permitting processes, including the intake of temporary outdoor dining and parklet applications, land bank applications in conjunction with the Department of Community Development.
  • Assist with creating GIS maps on request.
  • Support for the Neighborhood Planning staff, as needed.
  • Support for the Landmarks staff, as needed.
  • Assistance with special projects of the department such as records retention, neighborhood initiatives and mobility projects.
