The Energy Policy Center (EPC) is housed within the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. The mission of the EPC is to help overcome social and institutional barriers to the implementation of solutions to energy challenges by providing an objective channel for the free exchange of ideas, the dissemination of knowledge, and the support of energy-related research in the areas of public policy, economics, business and social science.
What We Do:
The Energy Policy Center engages in research and public outreach related to the intersection between science and public policy in the world of energy. Our focus is on policies that affect the American Midwest, but much of our research has national and international implications. Our research includes understanding the regulatory, economic, and business activities in the following areas:
- Adoption of battery and hydrogen fuel cell electric transportation.
- The hydrogen economy.
- Electricity markets and regulation.
- Microgrids and energy storage.
- Oil and Gas up, mid and downstream industries.
- District Energy Systems.
- The role of carbon dioxide in energy systems.
