Petitions

Petitions are submitted when you want to request a waiver or exception from a program, CEHS, College of Graduate Studies or University requirement. All petitions should be submitted to the Advising Office. There are three types of petitions for undergraduates and post-baccalaureates:

University Petition

Course Relevancy Form (required to extend the 6 or 10-year limit on graduate coursework)
 

Petition Deadline:

CEHS Petitions submitted by the second Thursday of each month will usually be considered by the end of the month. Petitioners will be notified of petition decisions by letter. Graduate College and University Petitions are reviewed monthly during fall and spring semesters.

Undergraduate and Post-Baccalaureate Students

Change a grade for a College course that has gone from an Incomplete, NA, or X to an F (for courses in other college, use petition form for that college) CEHS PETITION

Late Withdrawal from a course after 10th week of the semester CEHS PETITION

Student Teaching request (e.g., waive, late application, special placement, take course during student teaching, repeat student teaching)   CEHS PETITION
Substitute a course for a course required in your program   CEHS PETITION
Take a course at a two-year institution as a transient student after earning 60 credit hours UNIVERSITY PETITION

Graduate Students
