Sponsored by the CSU Office of Civic Engagement and the League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland, this nonpartisan event gives students and other attendees the opportunity to discuss issues that are important to them in a safe space that focuses on how they can take their passion for an issue and turn it into action with the guidance of our local government official facilitators.

Being six weeks out from the Midterm Elections, it is the perfect time to find different ways to engage our students and campus community civically and beyond registering to vote. Even if the issues are national, there are things we can all do at the local level to be engaged and to address them. Local government can often have more impact on our daily lives so engaging with local officials can illustrate that for attendees as well.

Local government officials and activists will facilitate discussion groups about taking action on the things you care about! This event is not an endorsement for any issue, candidate, or political party. It is meant to help participants identify actions they can take in support of issues that are important to them; understand what role local government plays in those issues; and how to work with local government.
