On Monday, August 15, 2022, City of Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb appointed Cleveland State University Levin College of Public Affairs and Education (Levin) Assistant Professor of Practice, Leah D. Hudnall, to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) Board of Education. Professor Hudnall joined the faculty of Levin’s Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs in 2022 and will teach undergraduate courses in nonprofit leadership and administration, contemporary urban issues, urban studies, and the African American experience this fall. 

Professor Hudnall holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Culture from Howard University and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll University. In addition to her leadership position with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, she serves as a board member of Birthing Beautiful Communities, The Land, and Cleveland VOTES. 

In 2020, Hudnall founded The Legacy Perspective, a civic consulting firm that offers project management, community engagement, and communications services to its client partners. She began her career at the KeyBank Foundation, and along her professional journey, has held roles at the Saint Luke’s Foundation of Cleveland, the George Gund Foundation, and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
