Sarosi Scholarship Fund

Richard Sarosi, a long-time volunteer and passionate alum of the College, has established a new endowed scholarship for Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs students. "Mr. Sarosi's career has been one dedicated to public service and community engagement" notes Paul Wolansky, Senior Director of University Advancement. "His generosity and thoughtfulness in supporting the next generation of Levin students who share his interest in public service and urban affairs is deeply appreciated."

The Sarosi Scholarship Fund will support CSU junior, senior and graduate students within the College who have, at least, a 3.0 grade point average with a preference for those who have interest, involvement and engagement in the Hungarian culture, community, and/or language. The first Sarosi Scholar will be named for the Fall 2016 semester.

Richard established the scholarship in recognition of the excellent education he received at Levin as well as to celebrate the love and encouragement of his parents, Ernest and Violet Sarosi, and his sister, Caroline (Sarosi) Lanzara during his academic and professional pursuits. Additionally, through this gift, he wishes to acknowledge the mentorship and support of three Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs faculty members: Dr. Roberta Steinbacher, Dr. David Sweet, and Dr. Thomas Campbell who played a pivotal and integral role in his education

Richard received his Bachelor of Arts degree in both Urban Studies and Political Science at the University. He then received his Master of Arts degree in Urban Studies from St. Louis University.
