Workshop Overview

The ability to form and hold meaningful, inclusive, and diverse associations and relationships is a skill that has increased exponentially in value. While the racial and civil unrest of 2020 strongly highlighted the value of diversified social capital, many people (as well as organizations) realized this part of their skillset was underperforming or worst, nonexistent. In this course Jejuana C. Brown (Certified Diversity Professional) shares how to diversify your social capital portfolio through allyship and by amplifying equity and inclusion in your personal and professional relationships.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn and identify the content and gaps in your social capital portfolio.
2. Identify saboteurs (stereotypes and biases) that hinder your personal and professional relationships.
3. Identify internal and external ways to practice allyship.
4. Create a diversification plan that focuses on equity and inclusion.

Jejuana Brown Instructor Bio
Jejuana C. Brown is the Director of Equity & Inclusion Programs at Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP). She is responsible for cultivating engaging and forward-thinking diversity and inclusion programming including the annual Inclusion Conference and IGNITE, a program for racial equity action planning. Jejuana also develops and leads workshops as well as presents at conferences on topics including board diversity, inclusive leadership, and equity and inclusion in the workplace. Prior to joining GCP, Jejuana managed strategic projects and relationships for several departments at Cleveland State University (CSU). Jejuana has earned a Bachelor of Nonprofit Administration, a Master of Education in Adult Learning and Development, and a graduate certificate in diversity management from CSU. An active community member, Jejuana serves on the board and is chair of the governance committee for the Journey Center for Safety & Healing.

Refund Policy

Refund to original payment is made at 100% when a registrant cancels attendance at least two business-days prior to the start of the first class. Alternatively, the registrant can choose to transfer paid tuition to a later, equivalent course of their choosing within the same college or school at no additional cost when giving a two business-day cancellation notice. Cancellation Policy

Cleveland State University reserves the right to cancel a workshop and refund the workshop fee in the event that there are an insufficient number of registrants.
