Where Is He Now?
Malek graduated in May 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from CSU! Malek tutored at the Cuyahoga County Public Library during Fall 2014.

What do you recall about your feelings or experiences working as a tutor in the program?
I greatly enjoyed my time as a tutor. I learned about how important early development is for children and how it can be a building block for their future education and endeavors. A child that struggles to read can snowball later in their life. So, anything I can do to minimize that, was great.

What do you feel you gained or how did you benefit from working as a tutor?
As I mentioned above, I learned about the importance of early development for children, and I believe that can impact other things in life. About the importance of learning and improving upon the fundamentals; or in other words, “Practice makes perfect.”

What did you learn or how did you grow in your professional development?
I learned about the importance of learning to work on my fundamentals (both as a student and as a professional), how to balance multiple responsibilities (full-time student, tutor, and a part-time job), and lastly, the importance of helping others and giving back. I know that I wouldn’t be as successful as I am today without my teachers trying their best to teach me or those who helped tutor me as a child.

Where are you now in your accounting career?
I currently work as an accountant.
